2010
1. SUPPORT
legislation that provides for full funding of the state pension systems.
OPPOSE legislation that fails to provide adequate funding for the state pension
systems.
2. SUPPORT
legislation and/or executive branch initiatives designed to maintain the
integrity of the state pension systems for present and future retirees and
their survivors.
OPPOSE legislation or executive branch initiatives that would threaten the
integrity of the pension systems for current and future retirees and their
survivors.
3. SUPPORT
legislation and/or executive branch initiatives to maintain the health benefits
offered through the State Health Insurance Plan and the College Insurance Plan.
CONTINUE to SUPPORT legislation to implement the CIP Task Force
Recommendations.
OPPOSE legislation or executive branch initiatives to reduce or eliminate
health benefits enjoyed by annuitants, survivors, and current state employees.
4. CONTINUE
to SUPPORT legislation to enhance pension benefits for pre-1980 retirees and
survivors.
5. SUPPORT
the attainment of these goals (1-4) through the following means:
a. SUPPORT
tax legislation that addresses the state’s structural budgetary problems;
b. OPPOSE
legislation to combine administration of state pension systems or of their
respective pension portfolios; and
c. MONITOR
additional legislation or executive branch initiatives that affect the
retirement or health benefits of active and retired state employees and their
survivors.
d. DEVELOP appropriate responses to these issues.
