Message to the
Membership
Wouldn’t it be easier if public employees/retirees
could just put on a pair of boxing gloves and duke it out with – actually, who
or what would it be? Sound absurd? Of
course it does!
There is an alternative – attend the
SUAA Annual Meeting!
With a 2% increase in the State’s Income Tax there is
still a large deficit to overcome. There
is no agreement to borrow more money; no agreement to tax more; and there is no
agreement to make more budget cuts. While
State pension reform and changes to health insurance benefits seem to be at the
forefront, is there a way to derail the oncoming legislation? You are invited to come listen to and ask
questions of the experts . . .

University. He assumed the presidency in
June of 2000. He

on their benefits and the welfare of NIU.
