The Illinois General Assembly has taken far too much and contributed far less than their fair share. The only problem with the pension system funding in Illinois has been the historical negligence of the State in making its contributions. Each and every one of you has contributed your part. In addition to the monetary portion, each and every Illinois public College & University employee has provided an irreplaceable and invaluable contribution to our society and State that is and will be felt for generations.
